Packed for a punch...

This holiday, i would say, is not for holidaying.

The FYP monster continues to haunt down the kangaroo... fortunately, it has been quite thrilling to explode my curiousity and have hands-on fun at creating... it's quite pleasantly satisfying to look at my own creations...

A few updates on my project. At the bottomline, we are investigating the performance of different materials for the RFID loop antenna. But once we expand that, we get to determining the performance deterioration and stability with monitoring over time. And after we are complete with the square loop antennas, we are looking at multi-planar-turns square loop antennas of the same circumference.

Along the way, we tried to achieve the matching, tuning, and now the next problem to overcome is to get the quality factor we want. Hopefully, that will be quickly resolved, so progress can be made.

And back to holidays, as you know, the week is already full with my fyp labs from mons to thus. I'm reserving the weekends for some social gatherings with friends and getting close to nature. Then again, my desktop is already stacked with a reading list of books. And that's not all. I'm planning to buy some more books. So it'll be a fulfilling month of reading.

I've worked hard enough, probably close to my present fullest potential, with few distractions. Unlike last semester, I skipped all overseas programmes this semester, and dug myself into books. With all that, I hope I can get into the dean's list. I know it sounds a little far-fetched, even I agree with that, but it's not a bad thing either to dream too... Haha... just hope I can get it happen at least for one semester, so I won't graduate in vain. Not something to boast about in the future, but some token for myself to appreciate my efforts of progress.

So back to holidaying, researching and more reading...

Would be back writing if available again... =p

what have I been doing?

I was reflecting on how much I've slept instead of worked. Here's a recap.

After I got back from SinoSing on 26th May, I didn't do practically much for the rest of the week, except to submit my choice for the FYP, watched the drama serials I bought in China, finished up the comic books for the season, prepare my bidding choices for next semester including FYP, prepared my resume (appending review from career's office) and application for the Master In Science in Management Program.

And I gave up learning horse-riding since it's too expensive, postponed applying for Starbucks and/or Kino because I wanted to enjoy a breather for my summers.

In the meantime, I've met up once with SinoSing company, caught a movie: Kungfu Panda with Adeline, and I'm meeting old friends from Cat High later this Sunday. All this while, I've been trying to finish up the book I've bought from China - the historical tell-tales of the 5000 year old China. It's quite informative. It was rather difficult to switch my reading mode from English to Chinese after years of dormance.

Also, I've been trying (and failing) to keep fit. I think I need to draw out a fitness plan. I'm too lazy to get disciplined.

There's still plenty I wish to do for the holidays, but I'll wait for choon fei to get back. Before that, here's what I think I might be doing....

watch movies at $6 at Cathay - watched wanted
prepare my exchange week in Thai - yeah, going over soon.
procrastinate about buying an encyclopedia for almost $500 including shipping from Amazon - not buying since I can't find a bargain, probably visiting the library to get a good reference
waiting in vain for my financial aid application - got my bursary YEAH
waiting in despair for my Master in Science in Management program application - writing my application letter at the moment
buy a winebook to study wines - bought the book, and reading it
attend the RSAF recruitment session - had a yummy lunch.
Visit Ah Leow's and Grandma - seen my grandma but leow's was closed when i got there
Get more comics (they are out on the shelves already)
Visit the museums (since choon fei will be skipping them I think) - had a guided tour by the docent at SAM
prepare for next year's summer internship? - haven't been checking out
